There are two boards in Arizona related
to Charter Schools: The State Board for Charter Schools and the State
Board of Education/Charter Schools.
The State Board for Charter Schools
consists of members specified in law representing specific bodies or
constituencies for purposes of sponsoring Charter Schools and recommending
legislation pertaining to Charter Schools.
The State Board for Charter Schools,
established by A.R.S. 15-182, grants charter status to qualifying
applicants pursuant to A.R.S. 15-183. and exercises general supervision
over the schools that it charters.
