The School Superintendent's Office provides central administration and support to all County school districts.

The Superintendent is responsible for all special school elections, school board appointments, and reviewing the annual financial reports, expenditures and revenue budgets for the 21 County school districts as well as reviewing all expense and payroll vouchers. The Superintendent also provides estimates of revenues needed for local property taxes for each school district.

The Superintendent oversees 990 students involved in home schooling in the County and maintains all teacher certification records. The office verifies and files transcripts of all district boundaries with the Board of Supervisors.

The Superintendent assists school districts with the legislative process and works with all districts to help them comply with state & federal statutes and regulations. In addition, the Office provides special services to school districts, including speech therapy, counselors, psychological evaluations, social workers, nurse, chemical abuse programs, curriculum and staff development, workshops and conferences, D.A.R.E. and G.R.E.A.T. programs and detention education.
